BULGARIAN WINES WITH WORLD RECOGNITION Two of Villa Lyubimets and Villa Hissar wines were awarded by International Wine Challenge London - the most recognized wine and sprits competition.

On this year's edition of the competition were commended Villa Hissar's +359 Metaphor white, 2008 vintage and Villa Lyubimets' Rose from Syrah, 2008 vintage.

The awards were officially announced on the London International Wine and Spirits Fair, held during 12–14 May, Excel, London, UK.

VINARIA 2009 – the vine-growing and wine-producing exhibition will be traditionally held during the period of 18 to 21 March in the Plovdiv Fair.

Two of Villa Lyubimets wines were distinguished for their high quality in\"The world of white Burgundy\" category from the Prowein Fair tasting commission.
The awarded wines Villa Hissar's Chardonnay, 2008 vintage and Villa Hissar's +359 white Metaphor won two of three possible stars.
The official presentation will be held in the period 29 – 31 March in Dusseldorf, Germany.

A paid tasting with wines from Villa Lyubimets, Terra Tangra, Castra Rubra and Katarzyna, Bulgaria, South Sakar region will be carried out on 12th March 2009 /Thursday/ from 18:30 p.m. in CASAVINO, 15 Doyran Str.
The aim of the tasting is to compare the wines from different wineries with similar terroir.

Days of Wine took place in Zlatograd from 6th to 8th of February, on the occasion of St. Trifon Zarezan, the patron of vine-growers and wine producers.

Organizers of the event are the Ethnographical complex in Zlatograd and the Tourist Information centre in Haskovo, with the cooperation of Villa Lyubimets, which wines were presented in the Alexander houses winery.

Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov and Bozhidar Dimitrov – Director of the National Historical Museum took part in the ritual of wine drinking, the sacred drink of the Thracians.

Training for sommeliers, barmen and waiters was provided.

Father Trifon blessed the vineyards with an Orthodox ritual, on the occasion of St. Trifon Zarezan, the day of vine-growers and wine producers. By tradition, the pruning took place in Agova koria vineyards, near Georgi Dobrevo village. Each guest was given a pruning shear in order to prune the vine by himself, praying for a rich and good harvest.
Dancers from Bratolubie National community centre reproduced old traditions and customs and played for more than 200 guests of the feast.

The first birthday of Bulgarian Gourmet Society was officially celebrated on 12th February, 2009 in Mercedes-Benz show room, at 5 Rezbarska Str, Sofia. The feast went under the title of "One Year Gourmet of Senses with Bulgarian Gourmet Society".
According to the Society's mission, aims and causes, the new senators will be introduced into high rank.
