"Vino Balkanika" wine contest was held for first time in the period from 10 till 12 April 2011 in the city of Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria. 27 wineries from Bulgaria, Turkey, Macedonia and Kosovo represented 55 of their best wines. Seven judges tasted and ranked he wines. Villa Hissar "+359 Metaphor , 2009" gained Gold medal with 89 ponits.
Tasting notes about the wine:
This interesting blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Traminer and Misket has intense, bright and well developed golden-olive color. It has excellent multilayer aromas – combination of dried yellow fruits, exotic fruits and eucalyptus, plus spicy notes, oak and vanilla. Mineral and oily tones are clearly defined on the palate. It is elegant and complex in taste, full bodied and rounded in the mouth. Wine has well balanced freshness. Slight bitterness on the final leaves additional spicy aftertaste.
