Days of Wine took place in Zlatograd from 6th to 8th of February, on the occasion of St. Trifon Zarezan, the patron of vine-growers and wine producers.

Organizers of the event are the Ethnographical complex in Zlatograd and the Tourist Information centre in Haskovo, with the cooperation of Villa Lyubimets, which wines were presented in the Alexander houses winery.

Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov and Bozhidar Dimitrov – Director of the National Historical Museum took part in the ritual of wine drinking, the sacred drink of the Thracians.

Training for sommeliers, barmen and waiters was provided.

Father Trifon blessed the vineyards with an Orthodox ritual, on the occasion of St. Trifon Zarezan, the day of vine-growers and wine producers. By tradition, the pruning took place in Agova koria vineyards, near Georgi Dobrevo village. Each guest was given a pruning shear in order to prune the vine by himself, praying for a rich and good harvest.
Dancers from Bratolubie National community centre reproduced old traditions and customs and played for more than 200 guests of the feast.
