Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and the typical Bulgarian variety Mavrud are
cultivated in the region of Lyubimets.
740 acres of own land are located along the lower course of the Maritza
River, which divides the southern slopes of the Rhodope Mountain and the
Sakar Mountain - these were the lands of the ancient Thracians, where the
vine-growing had never stopped developing during the ages; this is region
of the ancient Roman road to Constantinople which was traveled by traders and
their caravans overfilled with grapes and wine making their way to the
capital.
The climate in Lyubimets is Continental-Mediterranean. The winters are mild; the values of the absolute minimal temperatures never fall under - 10 - 15°С. The spring is warm and comes early followed by dry and hot summer. The lay of the land is varied. The sea level of the vineyards varies from 90-92 m to 170-230 m., the exposure is to the Southwest and Southeast. The soils are a variety of maroon soils, low to medium rocky ones.
